Handling Exception in calling Web Service, In BizTalk
I have faced the issue of calling web service from BizTalk, where intermittently either service is not available or there is some problem in connecting the service. Service can return response error code which is other than HTTP 200 code ie. HTTP 400 or HTTP 500 code. BizTalk doesnt like it. Send port will treat as warning, write warning in event viewer and retries. But eventually if problem and error persists then error will be thrown from send port. This error will be received in Orchestration. ......

Calling MAPs Dynamically
BizTalk's strength is in message transformation without hassle using maps. You dont have to bother about actual transformation done in xsl and can just start linking up elements from source and destinations to transform message. It is easy to create a map but it is difficult to decide and execute a map dynamically. Not untill I came to know about a way to transform a message dynamically i.e. calling a map runtime. I had used dotnet code to call maps dynamically but again that was not quite handy. ......

Difference between ServiceBehavior and EndPointBehavior
In BizTalk for WCF end point, we get both ServiceBehavior and EndPointBehavior as behavior extensions. Then a question comes across to mind is, why two different behaviors when we can use single service or end point one? Found out the answer, thanks to different sources and blogs. I haven't used WCF Services as such, so needed a clear answer for this. The ApplyDispatchBehavior method on IServiceBehavior has access to all endpoints and their runtime components and so shouldn't that be enough for wiring ......

BizTalk Multipart Messages
This is just for reference and for those who want to leverage multipart messages in BizTalk. BizTalk Server, a multipart message is one which has one or more parts, where each part can be either a XML Schema Definition (XSD) schemas or a .NET class. When a multipart message is created in BizTalk, the first part would be the body part of the message. This means that the property 'Message Body Part' shall ......

BizTalk Project Build, Deployment and Packaging
This is a post which I did on MSDN. I have not been comfortable using BTDF somehow, I always liked to have things done better using simple ways. This is one of the generalised script which I came up with for my recent project.I too wanted to avoid BTDF, I wanted to have something simple which can be adapted to different projects easily. I had came up with generalised MSBuild script few months back. Currently I am using just a batch file, which does all work for me. Just giving you sample in case ......

COM+ Component for Database Transaction
For my current client we are implementing BizTalk. I was suppose to design a solution which will receive message from Oracle AQ, transform it and send it to destination in MSMQ. Flow is pretty simple. I had to track the message in Audit database during execution. I designed it as always, I used long running transaction for orchestration and scope. Put all processing within scope except message receive. Exception was handled in exception block. Audit record if created would be compensated in database. ......
