Using networking in the device emulators in VS2005 is not as nice as it should be. The first time you try to use the network in the emulator you'll probably get this error: "Failed to open the VPC Network Driver. Verify that the driver is installed, or install the driver from the Web download location at http://go.microsoft.com/fwl... Or if the first time you try to use the network is with the IP*Works! .Net CF Edition components, you'll get an even uglier error saying: "A socket ......
I'm back home from DevConnections and Las Vegas (luckily my wallet only weighs a little bit less than it did when I showed up in Vegas). Two other guys took over the /n software booth - if you are there, drop by and say "hi" and sign up to win an iPod Nano. The conference was packed, lots of people and some great speakers.
If you're at DevConnections and you haven't already, check out Paul Litwin's DevConnections Blog. Besides his own comments, he's also got links to a lot of other people who are blogging the conference from Vegas.

There were a lot of fellow North Carolinians there, and ......
Its old news that Bloglines had some obvious changes recently (ie, the hotkeys), but I did not realize that one of these changes was enclosure recognition. I tell you one thing, for an RSS aggregation software company, bloglines sure does have trouble communicating with its users. For some strange reason, their news page *looks* like it might be based on a feed, but it has no permalinks. Do they even have a blog?Technorati tags: bloglines ......
I'll be at the
DevConnections show coming up in Vegas as an exhibitor (look for me at the
nsoftware booth!). This will also be my first time in Vegas and I'll have some extra time before the show to play in the casinos, but hopefully I can make it out of there without losing my shirt (otherwise people might look at me funny in the expo hall!). This trip should be a lot of fun! See you there!
