Beat me to the punch...
Well, just as I had figured I was beat to the punch at providing the details of the upgrade path from MOSS 2007 B2tr to RTM. But, I do have to say that Shane Young did an excellent job providing the gritty details of the upgrade. Check out is very detailed post for upgrading MOSS 2007 to the RTM version. It can be found here. Happy Holidays. Michael ......

Sharepoint 2007 Anonymous Access = 401 Unauthorized Access
So tonight we are rolling our Sharepoint Server 2007 B2TR implemenation to production. The whole week things have been clicking along and going very well (which usually boads badly for the actual push..) Well right out of the gate the good feelings came crashing down when when one of the testers tried to enter the site through the anonymous access side. To test this, I made sure that the site was not added to my Internet Explorer site categories for Intranet, and in the options made sure that it ......

Upgrading SharePoint Server 2007 B2TR to RTM
Well as a lot of people have been highly anticipating SharePoint 2007 (or MOSS) has finally made RTM. Now that really isn't anything new to be blogging about, but what is worth blogging about is that the RTM code has been dropped and the team has also put out the upgrade path from B2TR to RTM. Thanks to Steve Sofian's Blog, he posted the KB article to help perform the upgrade. Now, be very aware that when you are performing this upgrade be very sure to have your current setup backed up. Also directly ......

Setting up a Sharepoint 2007 medium farm.
So this week, I had a good time setting up a medium farm for a SharePoint 2007 project that I am working on. This is the first time I have had to experiene this as well as working with trying to install the B2TR version of SharePoint on the servers. One thing that I noticed very early is that setting up and configuring the servers are not very difficult to do. In fact if you want a good basis to follow along check out Bill English's post on it here. Anyhow, the main reason for this post is the problem ......

Deploying Team Sites
So currently we are going to go to production with the B2TR version of the new Sharepoint 2007. Why you may ask? Because the code for RTM is dropping to close to our deployment date to push it out with the RTM code. Anyhow, it should make for a good experience upgrading the farm from B2TR to RTM once we get things stabilized. The next adventure with the implementation of Sharepoint 2007 is the deployment of Team Sites. Now this might sound pretty trivial, but from a discussion I had yesterday with ......

Disable MySite and MyLinks in Sharepoint (MOSS) 2007
Okay, this one took me a while to figure out, but nonetheless I found it and will share it. In order to turn off or disable the MySite or MyLinks functionality you need to be an Sharepoint administrator. Go to the Central Administration Web Page Click on the link for Shared Services Administration --If you have more than one SSP, select the one that is running the MySites functionality Under "User Profiles and My Sites" click Personalization Services Permissions Select the group you want to limit ......

Long Time, No Post
Okay, so it has been a very long time since I have posted and most of it has to do with multiple job changes and the like. Nevertheless, now I think I am pretty secure to start posting again. Currently I am working on a Sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) Beta 2 TR implementation. We are going to production with the technical refresh of beta 2 here in about a week or so. This could get interesting. We were hoping to get the RTM bits by then, but without much indication that they will drop anytime soon the company ......
