This was on the front page of Digg yesterday. Its pretty good, the section on composition and portraiture is really informative. This is the first time I've seen this material presented in a concise and yet very explanatory tone. url: http://www.morguefile.com/a... Craig Tanner (whom I have tremendous respect for) did a podcast on process of creating the RadiantVista Podcasts. In the podcasts Craig mentions that he/they use an open source tool called Audacity for their audio editing. I tried Audacity today and it's pretty good. I am not an audio guru so have no in depth knowledge of what to expect of an audio editor, but as far as I am concerned, audacity lets me do all the basics, select, play, cut, copy, paste, loop. Woah! The last 2 days have been bloody nuisance to me all of which was caused by bloody red-tape from should I say Sri Lankan government departments. A word of precaution, if anyone one wants to ship a wireless device to Sri Lanka like a wireless router, or a remote control, or any ballyhoo that is termed wireless, beware you would need TRC (Telecom Regulatory Commission) approval to clear it. The process of getting TRC approval is one where you are totally subjected to everything that can go wrong ......
Quite a few folks raved on the blogging feature within Word 2007. See here for a run-down of this neat feature. So I gave it a swirl and found it pretty awesome and so moved away from Live Writer. However with Word lacking the Add Technorati tags feature I thought of dabbling my feat in VSTO and writing a something similar (yes I am ashamed to admit that I've stayed away from VSTO for so long). The fruits of my effort can be downloaded here. Of course to install this you need the .NET Framework 2.0 ......

Via digg There's an article on Arstechnica that says that a study has been done that shows the Aero interface in Vista does not affect performance. I am not digging that too much coz on my Vista Capable notebook (Dell Inspiron 6400 w/ the Intel 945GM Express graphics card & 1GB of RAM) I found that explorer.exe was taking up 35 - 40% of my CPU. Performance was much better after I disabled glass. Glass was enabled by default when I installed Vista, but now I keep it off. So the bottom line is ......
