MOSS Metadata Propperty Mapping Wierdness
I am noticing some wierdness with the MOSS's metadata propperty mappings. The scenario I tried was, went to a document library and added a new number column, did an incremental crawl, came back to search settings and went to add a new metadata propperty. If declare the metadata propperty as Integer it does not pick up my new column, but if I declare the metadata propperty as text it does. Is that wierd or what? Little Known Fact: How do you Escape a Curly Brace in a Format String?
Needing to spew out some javascript as a format template I ran into the issue of how do you escape a curly brace for String.Format. Obviously \{ doesnt work. Googling around brought me to this Forum. ConnectionPoint Ids
A little obscure fact about WebPart Connections. If you are writing a WebPart that is a Provider as well as a Consumer it is better to give your ConnectionPoint's unique Ids. Infact if you have multple Providers on the same WebPartPage the connections wont work unless each ConnectionPoint like so [ConnectionProvider("Displa... "ConnectionPointId")]public IWebPartField ConnectionInterface(){return this;} Technorati tags: MOSS, WebParts, Connections, ConnectionPoint Ids Cross-posted from ......

Transformers - All that fuss for nothing
Those Decepticons, they never learn. If that had a bit of intelligence they'd realize that instead of battling the autobots for the AllSpark they could just get from eBay (oh wait they already tried that). Yes folks, props from the Transformers movie is being pedalled on ebay. The last time I checked, the bid for the All Spark cube was about $40K (WTF?) & and the "77 Camaro was about $30K. The Camaro looks a real bucket case, just check out the pics (yeah the ones that are not from the movie). ......

Call of Duty 4 - HD Trailer
A Call of Duty 4 trailer seems to have surfaced at E3. The good news, its not WWII anymore (thank god). From what I gather the time frame the game is set in is today in an alternate reality where there is a war in Ukraine. There is no indiciation whether the oppositions is terrorist regime, or an evil empire. In fact the premise to the story is a bit emptying, all that is shown is a post chenobyll era with a terrorist style opposition in Ukraine. Check it out: ......
