Prabhu Kumar a tech twaddler..

All this while we have been working with the Windows Mobile 6.5 DTK, the developer toolkit, which is not a SDK but more of an extension to the existing Windows Mobile 6 SDK, adding support for gestures et al. Well, the wait is over now, the WM 6.5 SDKs for professional and standard devices are now available. You can download them from here. (see update below)

I've just downloaded them, haven't installed them yet, but from Joel's blog:

"I downloaded and installed it and can't say I've had a chance to dig into it. After installing it my system only allowed Windows Mobile 5 targets. I had to uninstall the Windows Mobile 6 SDK and do a repair install of WM6.5  to fix that. So far the only thing that stands out is there is a new project type for making widgets."

You can get more details from here and here.

I know I haven't posted much in a while, been busy at work. Hope to catch up soon though. Ciao!

Update:
It seems that the 6.5 SDK was a pre-mature version. No wonder people had problems with it. Catch the full news here. Few excerpts follow:

Several websites, including Softpedia and The:Unwired, reported that Microsoft made the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 SDK available over the weekend, but the software has now been pulled from the company's website, at least for the moment. When it does appear, the SDK will presumably offer features similar to the one previously offered for Windows Mobile 6.5.

In a statement, a Microsoft spokesperson said, "On Friday, January 22nd Microsoft prematurely posted a version of an upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 SDK to a public-facing Web page. While the SDK was not announced or promoted, it was discovered and generated questions from the community. The beta SDK has since been removed and will be reposted once final testing has been conducted. We apologize for any inconvenience."
