Unfortunately I was tied up with family committments and could not actually attend but Joe Healy wrote up a nice article with pictures!

PDC 2005 Call for BOF Sessions... and volunteers!!

If you are going to PDC this year (Sept 11-16th in LA), please consider submitting a Birds of a Feather sesssion at:

Unlike past years PDC and Teched's you must be registered to get to the registration page to submit or vote (http://commnet.microsoftpdc.com/bof/bofvoting.aspx)  on sessions.

While your at it, we (INETA) are looking for volunteers to help at PDC, primarily to help with the actual sessions. Moderators submit session ideas and the ones that are selected will be scheduled. Volunteers are needed to staff the rooms, introduct the Moderators, make sure the mikes are working and generally be a facilitator.

There will be three nights and seven rooms. Ideally each volunteer would be able to cover 1 room for at least one night. It is a lot of fun and there will likely be some perks tbd...

If you are interested please send email to bof@ineta.org!

Indigo Road Show in South Florida

We scored anIndigo Roadshow in South Florida, yea! And another in Tampa the week after.

So... what is Indigo? Will learn a lot more next week but my take is a big step for Microsoft that represents a maturing of the technology to write distributed applications. You will be able to write distributed applications where pieces talk to each other without knowing much detail of the underlying channel. Details of the channels may change over time or depending on the need or availability. Write once.. communicate flexibly..

As expressed in this MSDN article “Indigo marries the best of .NET Remoting, ASMX, System.Messaging, and .NET Enterprise Services into a single framework“ (http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/04/01/Indigo/default.aspx)

All the user groups in the area are promoting it and www.fladotnet.com is reminding it's members that the road show on Monday will replace our normally scheduled meeting the next night. This came up on us in just the last couple of weeks with the venue only being set a little more than a week ago As of today, the venues through Chicago are set.

Pre-register for all the road shows at www.indigoroadshow.com.

It is actually being held in Hollywood, FL, two towns south of Ft. Lauderdale.
