Vinz' Blog (ProudMonkey) "Code, Beer and Music ~ my way of being a programmer"

Few months ago I have posted an article on how to use the ProudMonkey customized MessageBox, ConfirmBox and FrameBox controls for ASP.NET 3.5 here. Many developers are asking me via email and private messages requesting how to use those controls in ASP.NET 4.0. Obviously the previous dll will not work in ASP.NET 4.0 version because those controls are using AjaxControlToolkit 3.0.1106.0 which is not compatible with .NEt 4.0 version. So if you want to use the MessageBox, ConfirmBox and FrameBox controls in ASP.NET 4.0 version then you can download the compatible version here.

@Andre,

Did you register the control like?

<%@ Register assembly="ProudMonkey.Common.Controls" namespace="ProudMonkey.Common.Controls" tagprefix="cc1" %>

@Andre and Kevin,

I've re tested the controls again it works just fine. I'm using the following browsers below for my testing:

Chrome: 10.0.648.151
Firefox: 3.6.10
IE: 8.0.76

Please try to clear your browser cache and see if that will make a difference.

Thanks for the nice control. I have a question about closing the page. How do I implement close button in stead of clicking X to close the page, the java scripts window.close does not work.

Hi Vinz. Is there any posibility that you upload the solution of the customized MessageBox or something? Because, I really really like your work, but i am now working with the latest ajax control toolkit and your last upload was with the 4.1.40412.0 ajax control toolkit
version!And i can't use that version!Or if you compile again with the last version of ajax control toolkit it would be great! Thanks a lot!

@Ravi,

I believe you can capture it at the client-side. I mean disable it using javascript. Just look for the ID of the OK button in the html generated source.

Hi Vinz. I have an issue. I use your messagebox control in a search button. I use it to validate some things like empty fields for example. But now, I want to add an ajax loader(like a circle spin gif) with my search button. The thing is that I have an update panel and as you said, I need to use triggers with my update panel in order to display the messagebox control correctly. but the issue is that using triggers, it doesn't display the ajax loader image. Any suggestion?Or how can I use your control with an ajax loader?Thanks in advance!

One last thing. I have to said that I tried a lot of methods to display the ajaxloader gif using jquery or for example these 3 methods: http://www.dotnetcurry.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=227. But with my search button, it doesn't work :(. Aaaaa! I suppose is because the update panel's trigger, wich I need to display the message box correctly.
