I have been hearing a lot of discussions as of late on whether the Edit and Continue feature will be in C# (as it will be in VB8) or not. But looking at some PPT slides that Microsoft released to user groups just recently, I see the Edit and Continue feature listed under the New Features section of the C# Lanaguage slide (Slide 10). Interesting! First official word I have seen of this ... that's all. Thought I would share. Posted on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 12:00 PM INETA , Microsoft , Programming Languages | Back to top

I am happy about that. We C#ers could be all stuck up and say "real developers don't need that feature" or we could say "hey that's cool, I might use it". But if it doesn't take away from performance I am all for it.

Yeah, but these things always eat from performance. Eclipse for example gets quite slow for big projects and after a long run. Of course it is full of features but how often do we need them? Also, what is the internal state of the software and peripheral files after an edit and continue? In most cases, to make sure it is consistent, it will say it can't do it...
