Visual DNN Admin has it's first release. Built upon a generic framework for building admins, this project can be fully customized through a configuration file. The released code includes code for the generic admin framework. Visual DNN Admin provides a full AJAX based MMC like admin for DotNetNuke that helps massive updating, management of site structure, and more. The admin is fully customizable and extendable through a definition file enabling editing custom dnn modules and integration to various systems.

The underlining framework named Visual Generic Admin (built over the Visual WebGui platform) will be available soon as an independent project enabling developers to take it to other verticals. By providing a framework that is fully customizable customers will be able to take to an admin applications written for different systems and combine them. The concepts of the Visual Generic Admin can be compared to web parts but for application level integration rather than portal level.

The Visual Generic Admin defines application parts (nodes, tabs and fields) that can be reused through a definition file that defines there relation ship with the environment and there contextual properties. Adopting this architecture eliminates the code that manages the applications and the relations between the application parts and by doing so reduces development time and in the same time results in a more generic agile application.

The Visual DNN Admin is available on SourceForge here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/wg-dnnadmin/).
