Back in high school, Dizzy and Wynton Marsalis (sp?) performed at the Portland Zoo. Happen to catch them? I did and it was quite spectacular.

Unfortunately, I didn't. Geez, though. Dizzy *AND* Wynton?!?!? I can only imagine how wild that concert was. I saw a good share of artists at the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival though. And then various other festivals of course. Man, though! Dizzy and Wynton. Wow!

Yeah, Miles and Dizzy are my favs in the first generation. In the "second generation", man, the Ray Brown Trio. It's hard to get any better than that. Of the current cats, I like the Jeff Hamilton Trio. Although, I also love Joshua Redman, Nicholas Payton, Benny Green, well, the list goes on....
