Creating XNA games with VB.NET is going to get a lot harder with the release of XNA Beta2 and you will not ever be able to release a VB.NET/XNA game on the XBox360.

C# and VB.NET are so similar that it's really not worth the time to try and make it work in an enviornment it wasn't designed for and is moving further away from with each new release. I love VB.NET and I use it every day on the job, but when I come home, I just switch to C# to develop with XNA. It's really a smooth transition.

LOL, sorry Lou, just thought I'd let you know. When I first started playing with XNA I was planning on doing it with VB.NET too, but then when I started reading up on it and talking to some of the developers at Gamefest they warned me about the problems I'd have. And then every now and then a VB guy pops into the XNA MSDN forums and gets told they should probably switch to C# as soon as possible.

Just trying to help my fellow VB developers out before they get too engrossed in an XNA project that they won't be able to actually publish their game on the 360 to amaze and astound their friends :)

I'm also somone who is stubbornly insistent on game development through VB.NET ... to the point where I'm also looking into using the XNA framework from VB.

I honestly couldn't care less about Xbox support.

I will be looking into ways of more intuitively using the XNA namespace in VB.

Hey guys. I found this guy, Alan Phipps. Maybe you've been to his site, but he has some tutorials up on doing XNA through VB.NET. You should check it out!

Please TetrisPwns (Above) was having a laugh when he/she wrote their post?
As George said, there really is no point in trying to create XNA games with VB.NET. I am currently developing a game in XNA with C#, my friend however, is creating a game in VB.NET XNA (He knows no C#). When I have a problem I simply refer to the XNA documentation, unfortunatly for him, there is none! Alan Phipps has some rather amazing tutorials on the said subject, but for the time it took me to understand and compile into a working game, I could have taught myself C#!!!

Good luck with future creations, I hope this helped!

Actually since this post was written my good friend Chris Williams has posted quite a few VB.NET XNA Samples on his other blog: http://ilovevb.net/Web/blogs/vbxna/default.aspx
