.NET Hobbyist Programmer Staying Confused in a Busy World

We are starting another new year. We have plenty to be both thankful and sorrowful for. We have our health and our family. We mourn the hundreds of thousands killed by the tsunami knowing that many more will die of disease and starvation. Many will never be counted.

We are happy for a relatively calm election cycle here in the US. It could have been much worse, but the problems seem minor and are not in Florida.

We are happy that Jeff provides us this wonderful place to hang our hat in the blogosphere. Thanks Jeff!

This is my 100th post. I thought to do this on Christmas and then on New Year’s Day, but life just got too busy. Family and work do come first. I have been working on the next increment of the EDR. With that soon to be out the door, I’ll shift over to some fun stuff dealing with Windows Forms design surfaces.

I have tried to post clear, concise, brief bits and have mostly succeeded. My nautical posts arise out of spending over 22 years in the Navy. I have tried to be accurate based on my experience and any references I could find. One pet peeve I have had with bloggers is the frequently cryptic titles of their posts. I have tried to be clear in that regard.

My wife and I will soon welcome our second child. With a new house, two kids, a real job, and other things to keep busy, hobbyist programming has less and less time available. I'll try anyway.

Happy New Year everyone!
