Technically Speaking All in on IT
Some screen shots have been posted of tweaks made to the UI of Office 2007 as well as the addition of a “silver” theme to the current roster of “black” and “blue.” The changes are expected to be finalized over the next week. Read more about it here and here. Personally I like the changes. I like the move to the rounded borders originally – they were fresh and new – but once I saw the UI with the traditional squared off corners we know and love in a Windows app I felt more at ease. They actually looked fresh again as well after staring at the round ones for the past six months. I hope a few more theme colors are added as well – Microsoft seems to only take one step here and not go all the way when it comes to UI and theme options. I haven't seen any themes for Vista beyond Aero Glass or Aero No Glass. How hard can it be to pound out a dozen or so for launch? Posted on Monday, July 17, 2006 12:26 PM | Back to top
