Warning: I may have no idea what I am talking about!
It's time for another complaint post. Yippee!! First, let me say that the Vongo service itself really isn't bad. I wish it worked with the Zune but it doesn't. The only reason I am canceling is because the client doesn't work for me. I may join again if they fix it. I just upgraded to the latest version of the Vongo software and it doesn't run on 64 bit Vista. Not a big surprise but the old client did. I can't find a way to downgrade, but it wouldn't matter much because this looks like a mandatory ......
Woot just keeps pushing the floor price. Today they are $79 refurbished. And only in brown, but that's still better than white.

So how do we turn that steaming pile of brown Zunes into a steaming pile of cash? How do we make America fall in love with brown?
Another great rant by the master. And I have to wonder how anything actually gets done in the open-source community. In general, the collective crowd has to be a royal pain to work with. And that's why any large-scale project within that community goes so slowly, unless it's done as a closed shop with a strong leader. And by strong leader I don't mean some overbearing jerk—just someone whom the group respects and follows. So because nobody is making any money, and because it's done for the utopian ......
The price isn't permanent, but you can get the
brown Zune from Buy.com for $99.
What a bunch of CRAP! Almost $10,000 per song. And it could have been as much as $150,000. This bullying by the music and movie industry has to stop. But now that they have this win, I think it's going to get a lot worse.

First a show like Cavemen is allowed to see the light of day, now Bionic Woman's ratings are dropping like a stone. “Bionic” fell 30 percent during its second episode to a 4.0. Moreover, this morning the industry is buzzing that the pivotal second “Bionic” episode, the result of extensive behind-the-scenes retooling, was a creative disaster—cliché-packed dialogue, a nonsensical villain, one-note characters. The much-heralded arrival of Isaiah Washington (who in a New York Post story Wednesday proved ......
Did anyone else see the premiere of Cavemen? I mean I knew it was going to be bad, that was the only reason I tuned in at all. But I couldn't even make it to the end of the opening party seen before turning it off. It just hurt to watch. And I watch a lot of crap shows on TV. Just ask my wife.
This show must end. And soon. I feel cheated somehow just knowing it exists.
If you are using agile development at all, you need to check out TargetProcess. I have used several different tools for project management and this is the one I keep coming back too. Yes, even you FogCreek lovers should check it out. Version 2.6 is dropping and it includes Visual SourceSafe integration and a new customizable dashboard. Version 2.7 should be out sometime around January and I've been told it will have some new features centered around messaging and blogging. A feature that disappeared ......
Here is a video of the new Zune interface. This one is a little more generic, showing off the hardware, accessories and the new marketplace. Source: http://www.iwantapinkzune.c... ......
I'm not going to rehash all the details, but the Zune 2 is on the way and all features are being backported to the first generation models. THANK YOU MICROSOFT! Personally my favorite features announced so far are podcast support and native support for h.264 and mpeg4 which is basically every podcast on the planet. (With the exception of you few losers using solely Quicktime MOV format.) I haven't seen any details on the user interface changes or the software changes. Hopefully video will be on equal ......
Live search is constantly evolving. But forget about all the new features or whatever features you feel are missing (integrated Favorites results). Just look at the user interface. It sucks. I hated the Crayola color scheme in MSN Search and was glad it changed in Live. Well, that ugly little sucker is back. Bright blues and greens on a fixed width background. When I first saw it, I thought it must be a bug rolling out version 2 and somehow they redeployed MSN search. Nope. That's it. And it's in ......
