The WSS_adminservice.log is located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temp

This file is written to every minute or so and just seems to keep growing.  As there doesn't seem to be any really useful information in it and there also doesn't seem to be any way to tell SharePoint itself to truncate or keep the log to a manageable size, I don't see any reason not to delete it.  I've set our servers to delete the file after the weekly backup so we do have a copy of it, but this prevents the file from eating up valuable diskspace.

If anyone has any recommendations as to what to do with this log, please feel free to post a comment.

This bug seems to persist in at least MOSS2007SP2 Dec 2010 update.
